I just want to give a fine farewell to some of the greatest friends that I have. We all came to China and Nanchang together in '06 and with the exception of Michael on the far right, all of these friends will be staying in the US and not returning to China next year. Ry and Amanda in the middle will be getting married and Jev will be marrying a wonderful girl in the States, while Kelly and Alli feel that they are being called back home. This has truly been my family for the past two years in China.
They will be greatly missed.
English Street
This was an "English Street" put on by some creative and ambitious students from the English department. There were a bunch of booths on one of the squares on campus. Each booth did something different but everything was in English. Some had games, one was a "name that tune" game, and this one was teaching origami.
These girls were part of group giving an airline experience. They gave all the speeches and services (snacks and such) that an airline crew would present.
Of course, I ran into several students at the English Street
A New Shirt
One day I was walking down a road on campus and there were these students standing around a booth so I stepped over to see what it was. Luckily a student of mine was walking by and explained that they would make a t-shirt for anyone who would make a donation for the earthquake in Sichuan, (mid-west China). There were several designs that I could choose from.
This has a white heart in the map where the epicenter was and the date of the earthquake 5*12. The words say "Let's Go Sichuan" in Chinese. It's actually hard to find shirts with Chinese characters on them because it's much more in-style to have English even if it's illegible. I felt like this was a really cool shirt to get and a great way to support these kids trying to do what they could to help.
These two worked very diligently to make the Chinese characters perfect on the shirt. They were very nervous about getting it right :-)
Last Classes
One of my most energetic classes on our last day. We already have a party planned for when we return. It will be a lot of fun to get back and see these students.

Very fun post. It sounds like you're excited to get back. Did you get new glasses? Random. Anyway, I hope you have fun back home. We don't have set plans to come back to MI until possibly Homecoming and for sure Emily and Chas's wedding. Will you still be around?
