(Retroactive) Spring Festival 2011

The Chinese New Year and Spring Festival combine to make the most important festival in China. I made it back to China after Christmas in time to visit a friend up in Jiu Jiang (Shown Right: The northernmost Jiangxi city directly above Nanchang) and I joined in the familial festivities. His family's however was far from a normal celebration. His great aunt has become a famous monk who has many followers from Shanghai (the city of Ca$h in China). She has become very wealthy and has built a new temple across the river - and provincial border - from her original one so that she can avoid "volunteering" ($300,000+) favors.

At the end of the video the crowd is waiting for her to arrive. She finally does arrive in the black car when the firecrackers start popping.
