Copyright

"Copy it right" would perhaps be more accurate. Business here is a general free for all. Companies have no recourse since laws aren't enforced. Sometimes a DVD shop will be shut down for a short period of time and then come back later. My favorite example of this was in a Beijing DVD shop where they seriously had a secret room behind a swiveling mirror where you could buy American movies. I went into that shop around the time of the Olympics when the law came to town and got rid of all the places that make Beijing fun - although a little dirty. I asked if they had any "other stuff" in the back as I had learned to do. I was told to come back in a few days. This happens a lot. Something will randomly be enforced that is never enforced and it is almost assuredly to play out some vendetta between competitors. In this case it was just Beijing during the Olympics facelift.

The photo of the knock off box cover is good fun. Does it make you wonder what's inside the box? ;) I enjoyed reading the blog and your account of travels in that part of the world. Thanks for sharing. --AndyG
