Traveling in Chinag Mai is easiest in a little Red Truck! You're 20 Baht from everywhere.
I'm feeling extremely tired tonight at 8:30 and not exactly sure why. I woke up early and had a lot of time with students today and maybe that is what wore me out. I'm fortunate enough to be able to say that I completely missed the huge snow storm that hit China as I left before it hit and returned after all the delays were worked out. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt in Thailand during the worst storm in China in 50 years. I do partly wish that I would have been around to say that I was here when it happened and to see snow for a change. I actually miss it though I never had any particular love of long Michigan winters.
My class in Thailand
The guy I'm leaning on in the picture works in Shanghai and was my study buddy during the classes. We would read together almost every night which was great since it is just hard to focus through so much reading without someone to discuss it with. We kept each other going.
After our conference we traveled south with a group of Nanchang people to soak up the son and enjoy each other's company.
These past few weeks have been a lot of fun with Wes around. No doubt about it. He lives right next door to me. With two of the five guys on this side of town in one place and probably the most comfortable apartments to hang out in, it brings the foreign party this direction a lot more often. Since the language school guys are living off campus and Wes has an extra bed in his apartment it is an alluring place for them to be if they want to skip the commute in the morning from their place.
There is a ton of work for me this semester with the addition of the masters program. Whew! I'm trying desperately to find time for reading and studying. A constant struggle.
